Vote for the DMV Region’s Best Musicians and Music Industry Leaders

From January 1st, 2022, music audiences across the Washington DC Region will be allowed to vote for The 2022 Wammie Awards. In full swing since December, The MusicianShip Wammie Awards has received hundreds of nominations for more than sixty music award categories representing 2021’s best music releases, talent, and community impact from the region’s music industry.

Voting and Nominations

Public voting will take place from January 1st to January 31st, 2022 through The Wammie Awards Nominations and Voting Award Force Portal. During this time, registered individuals may vote for musicians and artists in the DMV region. The Wammie Awards will continue to accept late nominations until January 31st, 2022. Finalists and more details will be announced in February 2022.

The Wammie Awards Venue & Host

The Wammie Awards is officially moving to Ward 8 to SE DC's newest, historic and state-of-the-art entertainment venue: Capital Turnaround, featuring a sprawling Main Hall, a 1,000 person auditorium, exposed brick Green Rooms, and breakout spaces. With The MusicianShip offices based in Anacostia, we are committed to bringing even more music events and experiences to Wards 7 & 8 - DC's lowest-funded wards for arts & entertainment. We seek to raise $5,000 at the awards show on behalf of our free music education programs.

We are honored to welcome back Britt Waters of ABC7News as The 2022 Wammie Awards Show Host. Experienced multimedia broadcaster, Waters will present The Wammies Awards Show, shifting between entertainment, artist recognition, and The MusicianShip youth programs $5K fundraiser.

NEW Wammies Media Mezzanine

In partnership with sponsors and The PR Alliance, The Awards Show will host a new generation of media around The Wammie Awards, in an exclusive mezzanine area at Capital Turnaround on March 26, 2022. Press will have access to interview experiences with finalists & winners, in addition to an opportunity to engage directly with the community. Award Show tickets and benefits will be offered. Outlets interested in covering The Wammie Awards should contact Senior Director of Community Engagement, Jessica F. Teachey at hello@wammiesdc.org by Friday, February 25th.
